Follow the on screen prompts to install the Prolific serial drivers and when completed the serial adapter should be assigned a COM port number. Now extract the contents of the zip file downloaded in step #1, navigate into the extracted files and double-click on "PL2303-Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1200.exe" to start the installtion process. Repeat steps 5-7 until the "Ports (COM & LPT)" section shows "USB-Serial Controller D" with an error icon to the left. When completed, right-click on any entry in the Device Manager and select "Scan for hardware changes". Check the box to delete the drivers and then click on the "Uninstall" button to proceed. Right-click on the entry "Please install corresponding PL2303 driver to support WIndows 11 and further OS." and select "Uninstall device". Open the Device Manager (right-click) on the Start Menu and select "Device Manager". Connect the USB to Serial adapter to the computer. zip file to the Desktop or Download folders

This will provide maximum reliability of the connection, as the USB wire makes a much more noise susceptible ‘antenna’ than the RS232 cable makes.Prolific has not yet released a Windows 11 driver for the PL2303HXD chipset used in our USB to Serial Adapter, in the meanwhile we can install an older driver to enable this adapter on Windows 11 systems by performing the following: Plug the USB Adapter directly into your laptop (without the USB extension cable) and use the RS232 cable to reach your ECU. We recommend using a standard 6′ RS232 serial tuning cable in combination with this adapter. 
You can use another adapter with a genuine FTDI chipset (which this uses) and you’ll probably be good, but if you grab this, you know you’ll be fine. This is probably the most common item we see people come back for after a purchase, so we highly recommend grabbing one now! We highly recommend this adapter is used if your tuning PC/laptop doesn’t have a DB9 Serial connector.
